1. History

The World Series Of Poker began in 1970 at Binion’s Horseshoe in Las Vegas. Poker Legend Benny Binion is widely credited with developing the poker championship format. From 2005 to 2021, the event was held in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. In 2022, the event moved for the first time to the Las Vegas Strip at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. 2. Recent Tournaments


Earlier this year, the 2022 World Series Of Poker Main Event title was awarded to Espen Jorstad. He was the last person standing out of the 8,663 people who joined in, which was the second-largest in the history of the World Series Of Poker. For comparison, the prior year had only 6,650 entrants.

The World Series Of Poker has reached new lands and has begun the 2022 World Series Of Poker Europe. The first location is at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The dates of the event are from October 26 to November 16. The main event will start on November 11. There is also an international event called the World Series Of Poker Circuit, which started last September 21 at King’s Resort. The circuit will move around, and as of this writing, there are 10 scheduled stops, with more to be announced. Winners from these events will be invited to compete in the Tournament of Champions event at the 2023 World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas.

Poker has come a long way from being played with just a handful of players to becoming a gigantic international event with thousands of players. The World Series Of Poker is a global platform that attracts players from all over the world, like Norway, the U.S. and Canada, among others. Looking forward to 2023, the series is going to be bigger than ever, and with online poker available again, more poker players will have a chance to play and win the championship.
